Using Sunflare
Emoji, stickers, and sounds
Upload your own emoji, stickers, and sounds and use them anywhere on Sunflare. They belong to your account, not to a server, so they come with you to every server and DM.
How it works#
Custom emoji, stickers, and sounds are personal. You can use yours in any server or DM, and everyone there sees them. Other people can't use yours, and you can't use theirs.
All three share one pool of slots:

When you've used them all, uploads say so. Every upload is checked before it's accepted, and some uploads are rejected for safety.
Custom emoji#
- Open the emoji picker (the smiley at the right of the message box), go to the Emoji tab, and click the + tile in the Custom category. The tile disappears when your slots are full.
- Pick an image: PNG, JPG, or GIF, under 512 KB. A GIF makes an animated emoji.
- Give it a name: 2 to 32 characters, letters, numbers, and underscores. Names are stored in lowercase, and each of your emoji needs a different name.
Your emoji then appear in the picker's Custom category. Click one to put it in your message.
Upload a 128 by 128 PNG named gg. Picking it inserts a code like this into your message:
<:gg:66f1c0a2b3d4e5f6a7b8c9d0>Everyone sees the image. The long part is the emoji's ID; the name is only a label, so if two people both have an emoji called gg, each shows the right one.
Stickers#
Stickers are bigger than emoji and are sent on their own as a large image. Upload one with the + tile in the Stickers tab of the media picker. Images up to 1 MB.
Deleting emoji and stickers#
Open the picker, right-click one of your own emoji (Emoji tab, Custom) or stickers (Stickers tab, My Stickers), and confirm. On a phone, press and hold instead. The slot is freed straight away.
Custom sounds#
Upload sounds in Settings → Notifications → Custom Sounds with Upload Sound, or from the upload tile in the soundboard, or from any Sound Settings menu.
- Upload most audio formats, up to 8 MB.
- Sunflare converts it and keeps only the first 15 seconds. Trim your file first if the part you want isn't at the start.
- Delete a sound from the Custom Sounds list in Settings.
Use custom sounds for:
- The soundboard
- Play them into a voice call for everyone. Any plan.
- Notification sounds Cosmos
- A sound for a particular server or DM. Right-click it, then Sound Settings.
- Ring and join sounds Cosmos Pro
- A DM's incoming call ring, or the sound when people join a server's voice channels.
Upload a 2-second "let's go" clip, put it on your soundboard for match starts, and set it as the join sound for your gaming server (Cosmos Pro).
GIFs#
The GIFs tab searches a built-in GIF library; GIFs don't use your slots. To use a GIF as an emoji or sticker, upload it as one.
