Using Sunflare
Keybinds
Keybinds let you control voice and video from the keyboard: mute, deafen, camera, screen share, push to talk, and the game overlay. In the desktop app, most of them work even while you're in a game.

- Keybinds
Setting a keybind#
- Click the shortcut next to an action (it says Unbound if nothing is set).
- Press the key you want, holding Ctrl, Shift, or Alt too if you like.
- That's it. It's saved straight away.
Keybinds are saved on each device separately, since every keyboard and setup is different.
Actions#
| Action | What it does | Works in the background on desktop |
|---|---|---|
| Toggle Mute | Mutes or unmutes your microphone. | Yes |
| Toggle Deafen | Stops all incoming audio, and mutes your mic with it. | Yes |
| Toggle Camera | Turns your camera on or off. | Yes |
| Toggle Screen Share | Starts or stops sharing your screen. | Yes |
| Toggle Game Overlay | Hides or shows the floating voice HUD without leaving the call. | Yes |
| Push to Talk | Hold to talk, release to mute again. | No: only while Sunflare is focused |
Global keybinds on desktop#
In the desktop app, actions marked as global work system-wide: press the key while a game or any other app has focus and Sunflare still responds. In the browser, every keybind only works while the Sunflare tab is focused, because websites aren't allowed to listen to the keyboard in the background.
Choosing good keys#
- Avoid keys your games use. A global keybind on V fires every time you press V in-game.
- Use a modifier like Ctrl + Shift + M, or a key nothing else uses, like F13 to F24 on keyboards and mice with extra buttons.
- If a global keybind doesn't work, another app (a game launcher, a recording tool, another chat app) has probably claimed the same combination. Sunflare marks binds the system refused; pick a different combination.
Example setup for gaming
| Toggle Mute | Ctrl + Shift + M |
| Toggle Deafen | Ctrl + Shift + D |
| Toggle Game Overlay | Ctrl + Shift + O |
Keys are recorded by their physical position, so a bind keeps working if you switch keyboard layouts.
